Class Rules

There are rules that must be followed in order to have a good and safe class. Master Collins alone will handle enforcement of these rules:

1. Respect others.

2. Respect school property. Please also note smoking is not permitted anywhere on school property.

3. Obey the class instructor.

4. Be on time. Classes have a scheduled start time and being late disrupts the class.

5. If the Marshalltown School System cancels class, Taekwondo classes for that evening are also canceled.

6. Participants are not to use any of the school's equipment.

7. If some participant damages the property of another participant, the school, or any instructor, that person or the parent of that person shall be held liable for replacement of the damaged property.

8. Dues are payable before starting workout each month. Please pay promptly at the first practice of each month. Dues are for the calendar month - not per class. There is no credit for cancelled or missed classes.

9. Students must arrive at class in either a clean white dobock or clean athletic clothes. "Athletic clothes" refers to loose-fitting attire that allows for easy movement. Jeans should never be worn for a taekwondo workout. A student may not participate if the instructor deems their appearance violates this rule.

10. Taekwondo is a physical sport and some contact may be made with students in order for a particular technique to be taught properly. As such, students must maintain personal hygiene. Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed, and feet and hands must be cleat at the start of class. Wearing of jewelry of any kind is strictly prohibited.
