Dear Sirs and Ma'ams,
HEALTHY FOODS YOU CAN EAT OVER THE HOLIDAYS
During the holidays there are a lot of foods consumed. Some are good for you and some are not. As my parents and most doctors say "most anything is ok to eat, as long as it is in MODERATION". Even some healthy foods are actually bad for you if you eat large quantites of them. So just remember, eat a lot of little portions and you should be just fine. :)
There are several foods that I just found out are very good for you and when put together form a relatively healthy excuse for a sweet breakfast. They will not only improve your body, but they will improve your mind as well.
The first food is WALNUTS. In simple terms, walnuts and walnut oils actually improve the use of body fat, act as antioxidants, an even improve your reaction to stress. What a great feature!
The second food is the CRANBERRY. It is actually marketed as "the superfruit" due to its wonderful nutrition content and major antioxidant qualities. So if you see a cookie, cupcake, fruitcake, or jello made with fresh ranberries...HELP YOURSELF-IT'S GOOD FOR YOU AND IT PROBABLY TASTES GOOD TOO!
The third food is PEANUT BUTTER. Peanuts are a huge source of protein which is neccessary for muscle growth. It also has monounsaturated fats, vitamins B3 and E, magnesium, folate, and high amounts of antioxidants. If you are allergic to peanuts I AM EXTREMELY SORRY, but for anyone else that isn't, stick to those peanut butter treats...in moderation, at Christmas time and feel no guilt.
The fourth and last food I am going to sell you on is MAPLE SYRUP. Shocking?! I KNOW! Maple syrup has fewer calories and more minerals than even honey. You can satisfy your sweet tooth without a lot of sugar. Maple syrup is considered one of the many "wonders of the world". After boiled a long time the sugar content will rise, but all in all, it is good for you.
So over this upcoming holiday season, between working on Tae Kwon Do and trying to stay in shape, enjoy some sweets that contain these foods and you should be good to go. Remember that exercise is key and when we don't have TKD classes over break, you should still work out on your own time.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Sincerely,
Master Amy Snyder
